What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a funding platform that provides creative small businesses and entrepreneurs with great ideas a platform to raise the funding/support needed directly backers for their imaginative projects to become a reality.
How it works?
Every project creator sets their project's funding goal and deadline. If people like the project, they can pledge money to make it happen. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal, all backers' credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short, no one is charged. Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing.
What are backers?
People just like you, who pledge money to join us in bringing our project to life!
What do backers get in return for donating?
We have created a 13 tiered incentive list that we created to reward each one of our backers who decides contribute to our campaign.
When does our Kickstarter Campaign begin?
Our Kickstarter Campaign begins on September 2, 2016.
Why we chose Kickstarter?
We chose Kickstarter because we believe that it is the best crowd funding platform that met our needs as a new company. We loved Kickstarter’s built in all-or-nothing funding system for a number of reasons. For starters, the funding system would help validate our business’s hypothesis that there still is a market for collegiate video games to potential investors, and venture capitalists. Also, it puts pressure on our marketing team to spread the word about our efforts and truly win over the support of the gaming community.
What is our funding goal?
Our current goal amount for our Kickstarter campaign is $850,000 with a stretch Goal of 2.5 Million. When our campaign begins, you'll be able to see a layout of how all of the funds pledged will be allocated towards our goal to #BringBackGreatness.
If you are UNABLE to donate, How can you HELP?
If you are unable to donate, we encourage you to SHARE all news, post, and information in regards to our campaign to HELP spread the word.
Q: If the project doesn’t reach its goal amount will I be refunded?
A: It's important to remember that Kickstarter is built on an all-or-nothing funding system. No one is charged until a project meets its funding goal and the funding period ends. This gives backers time to fully evaluate a project, and it also gives our Integrity team some time to look into any concerns raised by backers.
Q: Why is funding all or nothing?
A: All-or-nothing funding is a core part of Kickstarter and it has a number of advantages:
It's less risk for everyone. If you need $5,000, it's tough having $1,000 and a bunch of people expecting you to complete a $5,000 project.
It motivates. If people want to see a project come to life, they're going to spread the word.
It works. Of the projects that have reached 20% of their funding goal, 81% were successfully funded. Of the projects that have reached 60% of their funding goal, 98% were successfully funded. Projects either make their goal or find little support. There's little in-between.
Q: Will you give up on this project if your project goal is not met?
A: Of course not. We intend to do everything in our power to #BringBackGreatness. In the unfortunate event that our Kickstarter goal is not reached, we intend to continue to contact investors and venture capitalists.
